Jason Loverti, LICSW is a fully licensed social work therapist providing psychotherapy services for individuals and couples in downtown Vancouver WA.
He is licensed to practice in both Oregon (LCSW) and Washington (LICSW) and was awarded the Qualified Clinical Social Workers (QCSW) certificate for his level of experience, expertise and commitment to best practice in providing mental health services in the Pacific Northwest.
He currently sees patients Tuesday through Saturday with day, evening and weekend hours available on request.
He specializes in helping individuals (adolescents, adults, elders) navigate transitions in life. Depression and anxiety are often a response to such transitions. However, good treatment offers more than symptom reduction. Lasting change requires acceptance of, compassion for and commitment to what is meaningful in life. Helping people find their way into this process is how working with a therapist can be an effective and empowering experience.
In his work with couples, Jason takes the time and makes space for listening attentively to what partners are asking from each other. Couples therapy can be hard work and finding a good couples therapist is key to making the most out of this powerful intervention. Working on listening and fighting better, accepting each other as you are and working as partners to better relating and functioning – that is what the work ultimately is about.

- a focus on what makes people unique. “I emphasize the idea that all thoughts, feelings and behaviors happen in a context, without understanding this perspective we are prone to getting things wrong from the start.”
- “I am integrative and experiential in my orientation (i.e. psychological/theoretical) and have learned it is more important and effective in the long run to put people before models or theories of treatment. Thus, I tailor treatment to patient’s specific needs and goals through collaboration and some trial and error.

The relationship we build during this process allows us to develop what might be called actionable knowledge, i.e. knowledge you can use to make choices and decisions about where to go and what to do.”

I love a good theory and have spent too much time around books. But, I also know first-hand that lived experience can be far richer and valuable than books and that a theory is only as good as what it can explain. I am skeptical in this way, finding a mindful awareness orientation to be quite useful as a starting point for feeling better and gaining clarity about ones life.”
